Singleton and Singleton Present Research Singleton and Singleton Present Research

Dr. Topeka Singleton, assistant professor of educational leadership, and Dr. Jacques Singleton, professor of special education, presented research at the Experiential Learning Leadership Institute Conference. By analyzing student performance data on key assessments and the embedded experiential learning in each course, they conclude that student participation in experiential learning impacts their performance in online doctoral programs. Their work also provides insight into how doctoral training practices should be developed to maximize learning.

 
Desai and Pearlman’s Article Accepted

A study by Dr. Hrishikesh Desai, assistant professor of accounting, and Dr. David Pearlman, associate professor of hospitality management, has been accepted by publication in the European Business Review. In an examination of the determinants for capital expenditures at theme parks such as Disney's, they offer insight for park operators, industry analysts, and policymakers. Understanding these factors can aid park operators in strategic planning and investment decisions.

Tetteh Examines Impact on Researchers Tetteh Examines Impact on Researchers

A research article by Dr. Dinah Tetteh, associate professor of communication studies and Vaughn Endowed Professor, has been published in The Qualitative Report. The autoethnographic essay addresses the emotional impacts that sensitive research can have on the researcher, especially when the individual has not personally experienced the issue being examined. Tetteh based her study on an analysis of key moments during her research with ovarian cancer survivors.

 
Aryal’s Latest Anthology to be Published

Dr. Khem Aryal, associate professor of English, has signed a contract with TRP: The University Press of SHSU, for the publication of an edited anthology, Migrating Craft: The Art and Craft of Contemporary Writing with Immigrant Roots. The anthology, to be published in 2026, will include craft essays by two dozen prominent writers on aesthetic principles and craft theories that inform their writing. TRP also published another of his anthologies in 2023.

Esparza-Rodríguez is Co-Author of Paper Esparza-Rodríguez is Co-Author of Paper

Dr. Saúl Esparza-Rodríguez, assistant professor of management and strategy, and research coordinator for business programs, Campus Querétaro, is co-author of a paper published in the journal Revista del Centro de Investigación. Esparza-Rodríguez and his fellow researchers examined theoretical and conceptual constructs related to governance factors that explain the participation of Mexican small and medium-sized enterprises in interest group capitalism following the pandemic.
