Specialized Accreditation and Program Review for Academic Programs
at A-State
A-State is dedicated to academic program excellence. All academic programs are reviewed on a regular basis by an external accrediting organization or expert consultant. Furthermore, Arkansas Code §6-61-214 requires that the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board (AHECB) review existing academic programs. All certificate and degree programs offered by public colleges and universities in Arkansas are reviewed every 7 – 10 years. Accredited/licensed/state certified programs follow the usual review practices and schedule of the accrediting/approval body. Academic programs that are not program-specific accredited/licensed/state certified will be reviewed by external consultants. The full details of Arkansas Code §6-61-214 can be found here.
