Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Heritage Plaza A-State Campus

Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, we’re raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research. Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register with us. Science Trivia

Native Brew Works

Experience an evening of Science Trivia at Native Brew Works! Gather some friends, put together your own team, and puzzle out our scary science questions while sharing Native’s brews between trivia rounds! Teams and individuals are welcome. Check-in opens at 6:30 PM, Trivia kicks off at 7:00 PM. Pre-registration is recommended, see https://forms.gle/cFhUAR6Azc9XvB5QA. Franken-STEM

A-State Museum

Complete with Frankenstein-themed activities, this fun event promises to bring out the mad scientist in all of us. As guests piddle in Dr. Frankenstein’s lab, they will discover what blood is made of and will be encouraged to play “Operation” on a life-sized image of Dr. Frankenstein’s monster. Additional activities will inspire visitors to probe inside icy hearts and brains, create monstrous creatures of their own, measure the electricity found in their own bodies, and much more.
The museum is located adjacent to the Dean B. Ellis Library on the Arkansas State University Jonesboro campus. Look for the clock tower. Contact Jill Kary at jkary@astate.edu or by calling 870-972-2074.

Picture a Scientist film

Student Union Auditorium

Picture a Scientist is a National Science Foundation-funded documentary exploring the impact of gender discrimination and sexual harassment on three generations of women who are scientists. Following the movie, there will be a panel discussion by a group of women academics with participation from the audience. Pizza and popcorn will be provided.
