THE ARKANSAS ACADEMIC ADVISING NETWORK (ArkAAN) is an association of professional advisors, counselors, faculty, and administrators working to enhance the educational development of students and the advising profession. ArkAAN was established in 1994 and has over 70 members representing different colleges and universities throughout the state. Our purpose is to raise the level of recognition of academic advising as a profession and promote the professional development of academic advisors in higher education in Arkansas. To fulfill this purpose, we offer networking opportunities, encourage members to participate in professional development activities and promote the development and implementation of professional standards of academic advising.
