JONESBORO – Fowler Center at Arkansas State University will present renowned acoustic guitarist Andy McKee in concert Friday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the inaugural Oasis Arts Festival in Jonesboro.

McKee entertains both the eye and the ear as he magically transforms the steel string guitar into a full orchestra via his use of altered tunings, partial capos, percussive hits and a signature two-handed technique.

His crossover success has helped him to achieve millions of YouTube viewers, underscoring his emergence as one of the world's most unique and influential artists.

Oasis is a collaboration of A-State's Fowler Center, Department of Art and Design, and the Bradbury Art Museum with The Foundation of Arts and the Downtown Jonesboro Association.  The festival's purpose is to celebrate the arts in Northeast Arkansas.

“We are honored to be part of this inaugural event,” said Michael Bowman, interim director of Fowler Center.  “The arts are so important to the vitality and quality of life in Northeast Arkansas.”

All seating is reserved.  Individual tickets are $35 and $25 for adults, and $28 and $20 for senior citizens, students, and A-State faculty and staff, and $15 and $10 for A-State students with a current ID. Group discounts are available for groups of 15 or more.
