JONESBORO – The Department of Music at Arkansas State University will present the “Bon Voyage” performance for the Concert and Community Choirs’ upcoming study and tour of Ireland, Monday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center’s Riceland Hall.

The trip is a joint project of A-State's Study Abroad and Choral Music Programs.  The concert will be conducted by Dr. Dale Miller, director of choral activities; Cherie Collins, adjunct instructor in music; and Daniel Comeaux, graduate student.

Matthew Carey, assistant professor of music. Is featured baritone soloist for the performance and teacher of the study abroad course, “The Story of Ireland.”

Selections include music of the United States and Ireland, including the premiere of A-State senior Aaron Fisher’s setting of the Irish tune, “Wild Rover.”  Fisher is a composition major.

The choirs also will perform the concert premiere of the commissioned work “The Rocky Road to Dublin” by A-State graduate James Kane Bradley, and spirituals by Moses Hogan and Stacey V. Gibbs.

Admission is $5 per person, and A-State students are admitted free with their student ID.  The admission prices will help defray travel expenses for the choir members.  Fowler Center is at 201 Olympic Dr.
