Hemingway Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center to Sponsor Short Story Writing Contest

JONESBORO – The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) is hosting a short story writing contest. The contest is open to all Arkansas college students at the undergraduate level. Any major may participate.

Writers’ submissions must be no longer than five pages. All genres are welcome. Plagiarized entries will not be accepted.

Naomi Wood, author of “Mrs. Hemingway,” will judge the contest. Wood is a writer based in London, England. She was a fully funded resident scholar at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., and was the British Library’s 2012 Eccles Centre Writer in Resident.

Entries must be submitted as an email attachment in Word. At the top of the page, entrants must provide their name, email address, mailing address, phone number, major, classification, and college/university.  Writers should email entries to hemingwaypfeiffer@gmail.com, by March 31. Winners will be announced on April 28.

HPMEC is an Arkansas State University Heritage Site at 1021 W. Cherry Street, Piggott. Tours are on the hour Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
