Historic Dyess Colony: Boyhood Home of Johnny Cash Moves 83rd Birthday Celebration to Feb. 26

02/18/2015

DYESS, Ark. – (UPDATED, Feb. 18) – The Johnny Cash Birthday Tribute scheduled for Feb. 21 at Historic Dyess Colony: Boyhood Home of Johnny Cash has been cancelled out of concern for the safety of many of the guests and participants who were going to be traveling great distances.

Instead, refreshments will be served throughout the day on Johnny Cash’s actual birthday, Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Historic Dyess Colony Administration Building.  In lieu of admission to Administration Building exhibits and the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home on that day, visitors will be asked to consider a birthday donation.

The restoration continues to attract a variety of visitors, including the Johnny Cash Legacy cast who came over from Nashville recently. See the video below to learn why they came and what they experienced.

The address is 110 Center Dr. in Dyess.  For more information, individuals may call (870) 764-CASH (2274) or visit http://dyesscash.AState.edu/ or the Historic Dyess Colony: Boyhood Home of Johnny Cash Facebook page.
