JONESBORO – Arkansas State University Museum will introduce Imaginate, an exhibit that makes innovation accessible and fun, Saturday, Oct. 21.  Imaginate, which remains on display until April 2018, is free to the public.

As part of multiple activities, visitors may make paper airplanes and test them on an obstacle course to improve their designs, and they can learn how ordinary materials may be used to create extraordinary things.

Guests may also collaborate by using their heartbeats to move lights in a large sculpture, and use their collective skills to create musical “masterpieces” on sound panels.

“As its title suggests, Imaginate was designed to awaken and inspire the imagination,” says Jill Kary, curator of education.  “It is my hope that participants Imaginate will be happily planning their next creations and or inventions by the time they depart.”

Imaginate is made possible in part by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation and by a grant from the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation.

ASU Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, and Wednesday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
