10/11/2017

JONESBORO – Dr. Kathy White Loyd, interim dean of the College of Business at Arkansas State University, has been named “Woman of the Year” by the Jonesboro Business and Professional Women.

She will be honored at a reception, Monday, Oct. 16, at the Delta Center for Economic Development, Room 203, between 5-6:30 p.m. The A-State Office of Diversity and the campus and Jonesboro chapters of the BPW are hosting the reception.

Loyd, who also serves as the executive director of the A-State Women’s Business Leadership Center, was appointed as the interim dean in May. An alumna and long-time supporter of A-State, she brought a diverse background of academic achievement and business executive leadership to the dean’s office.

A contributor in the field of information technology and economic development, her ties to the Jonesboro region include being a founding partner of Rural Sourcing, a programming company located downtown.  She currently serves on the board of directors for Mattel, Inc., (MAT) and is retired from Cardinal Health, Inc., (CAH) as executive vice-president and chief information officer.

Prior to her business career, she was a tenured associate professor of information technology at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

Loyd holds an undergraduate degree and MBA from Arkansas State and a doctorate from the University of Memphis.
