Starting a Business in Arkansas workshop to be held at ASU Small Business and Technology Development Center

JONESBORO, Ark. — The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Jonesboro Association will host a workshop for start-up businesses, Tuesday, June 4, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, 319 University Loop Circle, Room 201.

The ASU SBTDC will offer "Starting a Business in Arkansas: How to Get a New Business Started Right.” This workshop is aimed at anyone considering starting a new business and wants to ensure that the business has the best potential to succeed regardless of economic conditions.  

“If you are going to start a business in 2013, this seminar is the place to start,” said Herb Lawrence, director of the SBTDC.  “Topics will include business plan keys for success, legal requirements, licenses, fees and permits required by Arkansas, how to determine the feasibility of the business idea, common pitfalls to avoid, information about financing options and much more.

Registration for “Starting A Business in Arkansas” is $30 per attendee, Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce members $20, ASU faculty, staff and students $15.  The workshop is free to all military veterans and their families.
