JONESBORO – Arkansas State University’s Fowler Center will present a "Celtic Spring" concert by The Muses Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall, as part of its annual performing arts series.

The Muses Creative Artistry Project, in its second visit to Fowler Center, will celebrate the beauty of spring and St. Patrick’s Day through its unique blend of traditional and contemporary Irish, Scottish and English ballads and folk songs, according to Dr. Marika Kyriakos, Fowler Center director.

The Muses feature talented professional female lead vocalists, instrumentalists, young artists and dance performances in solos, duets, and various ensembles, all in the style of the Celtic Women.

The concert ballads are expected to include traditional favorites such as “Molly Malone," “Danny Boy," “Parting Glass" and “The Rocky Road to Dublin.”

Irish harpist Shana Norton and flutist Adrienne Inglis, pianist Kristen La Madrid, drummer Paul Stivitts and Brandon Brockinton are joined by sopranos Deleen Davidson, Anna Montgomery, Ruth’e Korelitz, Katy Yerina Brockinton and Erica Shoelkopf, with talented dancers and a mixed-voice ensemble of Muses Young Artists.

Celtic music lovers across the state and region have given high praise for their charm and elegance, and their tuneful and spirited performances.

Support for the Muses Project is provided, in part, by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

All seating is reserved.  Individual tickets are $35 and $25 for adults, and $28 and $20 for senior citizens, students, and A-State faculty and staff, and $15 and $10 for A-State students with a current ID. Group discounts are available for groups of 15 or more.
