Saluting our outstanding faculty

The Faculty Achievement Awards were created to reward our faculty who have gone above and beyond in our core mission of service to our students in the areas of teaching, advising, scholarship and service. Five awards provide a monetary stipend of $2,500 and the Chancellor’s and Provost’s Medals provide $5,000 stipends.

Eligibility & Process Overview

Only full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members are eligible for the scholarship, professional service, and research awards. All faculty are eligible for the teaching and advising awards. The awards are based upon faculty achievement during the preceding calendar year, except the Chancellor’s and Provost’s Medals, which are based on career achievement.

Review our Eligibility & Selection Procedure page for more details about eligibility and how winners are selected.

Nomination & Selection

Candidates can be self-nominated or nominated by a colleague or student. A single finalist is submitted from each college for each award. The Faculty Awards Committee selects the winner of each award.

Faculty Honors Convocation

The winners of the Faculty Achievement Awards are announced during the annual Faculty Honors Convocation, a highlight of the annual Convocation of Scholars celebration each April.
