Welcome to Arkansas State University!

Loans are funds that you must repay. Federal Loan programs offer a secure, government-regulated and reasonably affordable way to invest in yourself and your goal of a higher education. Even though some loans are based on financial need, there are programs available to all federally eligible students regardless of income.

The Federal Direct Student Loan is available from the U.S. Department of Education. The loan proceeds are delivered to the school for eligible students and is available to both undergraduate and graduate students to help pay for their educational costs. ASU disburses the loans after they have been approved and processed and classes have begun.

For dependent students that may need additional loan assistance, Federal Direct PLUS Loans enable parents of dependent students with good credit history to borrow for each student who is enrolled at least half time. Plus loan eligibility is not based on financial need, so these loans are made regardless of income level. Parents must pass a credit check to be eligible.
