Welcome to Arkansas State University!

International Insurance, Health and Safety

The Student Health Center

Health Immunizations

All students are required to have two Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) shots along with a T-spot (Tuberculosis) test when they arrive to campus by state law. These are given to students during their orientation week. If you have already taken your MMR shots, please send an email to international@astate.edu before arrival.

Health Insurance

International students are required by the U.S. government to have health insurance.  Good health is the foundation for having academic success. Having insurance helps to make sure you are prepared for the cost of medical care should you need it, especially in the event of an unexpected medical emergency.

We offer resources such as workshops and ‘how to’ manuals to help students understand the importance and role of private medical insurance in the United States.  For insurance tutorials, .PDF guides and FAQ's, please click the tab on the left or click here.

Health Services

The Student Health Center is the campus health care clinic and is open to all current A-State students. Their operating hours are from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and they can provide an array of services. There are some emergency phones located inside some of the residential facilities that are wall mounted and do not have blue lights. Also every elevator on campus has an emergency phone inside the cab of the elevator.
