Welcome to Arkansas State University!

Praxis II

If you are seeking Arkansas licensure, you must pass the Praxis II assessments:

  1. Principles of Learning and Teaching [Exemptions to Principles of Learning and Teaching: English, Life/Earth Science, Physical/Earth Science, Math, and Spanish]
  2. Specific subject area test(s). The Praxis II is given seven times yearly: two times in the fall, three times in spring and two times in the summer. Applications and schedules are available online at www.ets.org/praxis. Application cutoff dates do exist and students are urged to complete their application for the Praxis II assessments early during the semester of their last enrollment period. It usually takes six weeks to receive your scores when you take the Praxis II assessments.

All teacher education candidates, (BSA agriculture education, BME, BFA, and BSE) must take the appropriate Praxis II assessments required for licensure in Arkansas and report their test results to Arkansas State University for licensure processing.
