Welcome to our SBLC!

Our eighth annual Small Business Leadership Conference will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the A-State Reng Student Union.

The goal of this conference and competition is to introduce entrepreneurship, marketing, and general business concepts to 3rd-6th grade students.

Competition Information

We will have two separate competition groups - one for 3rd & 4th grade, and one for 5th & 6th grade. Students will work in teams of one to five students to create a new (or significantly improved) product or service. In creating their product or student, they will need to:

  2. create an advertisement like you would see in a newspaper or on a billboard (Example)
  3. film a 60-second or less commercial and upload to YouTube or Vimeo as Unlisted or Public (Example)
  4. film a 120-second or less elevator pitch and upload to YouTube or Vimeo as Unlisted or Public (Example)

All four parts should be submitted by 5pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 (submission details coming soon). We will announce the top 5 finalists in elevator pitches for each age group on November 10, 2023. These 10 groups will present live and in-person on the day of the conference.

Conference Day Information

On the day of the conference, students can be dropped off at the Student Union near our Red Wolf statue and we will have college students to lead them upstairs. Teachers can visit the registration table in front of the Auditorium to sign in, and we will take it from there! We will have a day full of interactive workshops run by our college students and elevator pitches from the top teams.

A more detailed schedule will be released closer to time, but schools will arrive between 8:45am-9am to sign in, and we will release everyone at 1:30pm after the Award Ceremony.
