Resources for academic success

Psychology & Counseling Department offices, classrooms, and support facilities are conveniently located in the Education Building on the east side of campus. Faculty teach in "smart" classrooms that are capable of delivering multimedia instruction. We have a computer lab that supports both our courses and individual student projects. We also have an experimental psychology lab with support facilities.

The department has a clinic that is located on the first floor of the Education Building. The clinic has a group counseling room, six individual client rooms, and a play therapy room. All the counseling rooms include access to quality recording in order to conduct research, provide services, and training for counseling students. In addition to the counseling rooms there are multiple research labs for the psychology department to conduct their studies to produce innovative research in a multitude of areas.

The department maintains several faculty led laboratories for basic human and animal research, including the Animal Learning Lab, the Forensic and Applied Cognition in Society Lab, the Memory, Attention, and Perception Lab, and the Social Attitudes and Political Psychology Lab. The facilities were designed to meet the growing need, and demand, for hands-on laboratory and research experiences for students.   The designated facilities are equipped with the latest technology and are used in the investigation of a wide variety of research topics as well as in the supervision of students conducting independent research projects and honors theses.
