The Honors College awards degrees with honors to candidates who meet specified standards of academic excellence. Students can graduate "In University Honors", "In Honors", or receive an Honors Certificate.
To graduate "In University Honors" students must have:
- 24 credit hours of Honors coursework. 12 credit hours must be upper-level courses.
- Senior thesis in major or minor area.
- Overall GPA of 3.50 or higher.
To graduate "In Honors" students must have:
- 18 credit hours of Honors coursework. 9 credit hours must be upper-level courses.
- Overall GPA of 3.50 or higher.
To earn an Honors certificate students must have:
- 18 credit hours of Honors coursework.
- Overall GPA of 3.00
Honors students who have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours in Honors coursework with a 3.00 or higher overall GPA and have been formally admitted to professional programs that do not require an undergraduate degree are also presented with a certificate in recognition of their accomplishment.
