Art + Design

The Department of Art + Design is a dynamic multidisciplinary community for those serious about creative practice, teaching, and research. With a grounding in both tradition and contemporary culture, our faculty and students work across a diverse range of media, including photography, graphic design, fibers, printmaking, ceramics, art history, painting, metalsmithing, sculpture, game design, and VR. Throughout their time in our department, students learn technical skills, new technologies, and design processes from professionally active faculty. 

Students at all levels have the option of living on campus in our Living Learning Community (LLC) with other Art + Design majors. While we value the local, we also encourage our students to expand their perspectives through our internships, exhibitions, visiting artist lectures, and annual study abroad programs.
