Biography

Andrew Fernandez is a multimedia artist whose practice is involved in sculpture as a means to an end. He is interested in the life of the objects after they have been built. His teaching practice aims to show others how exploration, play, and sculpting can empower artists to build, repair, and generate the tools that can be used in their primary studio practice and life.

Outside of Academia, his work involves large scale public sculpture and installation. His video has been screened in international film fests, performed in alternative venues, museums, galleries, and spaces that serve as a surrogate for larger institutions.
