How much is the scholarship for?
The amount of award for your scholarship is determined by earnings from the endowment, provided funds are available.
What are the requirements to receive the scholarship?
- Must be a full-time professional student who is accepted to the A-State College of Veterinary Medicine.
- Must be an in-state student and Arkansas resident in financial need.
- Preferences given to applicants are as follows:
- First preference: Applicants from Greene County, AR.
- Second preference: If there are no applicants from previous preference, preference goes to applicants from Northeast Arkansas (Craighead, Mississippi, Cross, Poinsett, Greene, Clay, Randolph, Lawrence, Jackson, Woodruff, Sharp, Independence, Fulton, and Izard).
- Third preference: If there are no applicants from the previous two preferences, preference goes to any applicants from Arkansas.
How do I maintain the scholarship?
Scholarship is not automatically renewed. However, you must continue to meet all the qualifications of scholarship. You must re-apply each year: Previous year’s recipients have preference over all applicants. No awardee will receive the award for more than 4 years.
How are scholarship recipients chosen?
The College of Veterinary Medicine Awards and Scholarship Committee selects the students to receive the scholarship.
How can I apply for this scholarship?
The scholarship application will open during October 2025. The application will be through Self-Service Banner.
