Welcome to Arkansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine! We are dedicated to creating a College of Veterinary Medicine that will serve the needs of Arkansas and beyond. We are excited to share with you highlights of the resources and opportunities that shape our veterinary program.
The Arkansas State University College of Agriculture and associated University Farm, a 240 acre farm with equine, bovine and small ruminant herds and animal handling facilities, provides excellent opportunities for teaching large animal clinical skills. A new CVM building is being constructed on the Arkansas State University campus and includes state-of the art laboratory spaces for anatomy and clinical and surgical skills instruction; flexible use classrooms; and faculty and administrative offices.
Our curriculum includes three years of pre-clinical training, followed by a year of community-centered clinical training. We have partnered with animal health professionals and veterinarians in Jonesboro and across Arkansas and the Mid-South region to create diverse experiential learning opportunities for our DVM students. Our clinical year is a distributed model of training, allowing our students to gain real-world experiences by working with veterinary practitioners throughout Arkansas and across the nation.
The Arkansas Biosciences Institute, located adjacent to the planned College of Veterinary Medicine building, provides unique opportunities for collaborative research in agriculture and biomedical sciences.
Thank you for your interest in our program! We are excited to embark on this journey of building a College of Veterinary Medicine to serve Arkansas. You can follow our progress on our website or social media platforms. Please reach out for more information or to schedule a visit.
