Shew is Inaugural Holder of Wilson Chair Shew is Inaugural Holder of Wilson Chair

Dr. Aaron Shew is joining the faculty this semester as inaugural holder of the R.E. Lee Wilson Chair of Agricultural Business. The Wilson Chair was established in 2015 through a $1 million gift from the R.E. Lee Wilson Trust Foundation with the goal of attracting a scholar to enhance A-State's strength in agribusiness.  Most recently he was a postdoctoral research scholar. Details are online.

 
Faculty, Staff Moved A-State Forward in 2018

If we listed all A-State faculty and staff who made contributions to the university's various successes in 2018, much of their work would be represented in the "Year in Review" video produced by Digital Creative Media and introduced by Chancellor Kelly Damphousse. Here it is, with a salute to all who helped move A-State forward in 2018, and a nudge to imagine what's possible in 2019.

Hu Writes Article for Financial Professionals Hu Writes Article for Financial Professionals

Dr. Xiankui (Bill) Hu, professor of finance, has written an article published online by the Association for Financial Professionals. His article, titled "Improve Your Data Analysis Skills with These Three Steps," is a follow-up to a webinar Hu conducted on the topic for the association.  He offers guidance for developing data analysis skills in three phases: preparation, analysis and conclusion.

 
Gipson is Leading Second Saturday Project

Shelley Gipson, professor of art, will lead the Department of Art + Design's "Second Saturday" art project this week, Jan. 12, at the Fine Arts Center. With this month's theme of paper cutting, Gipson, assisted by art education student Mykala Lemmons, will work with guests age 12 and up on various techniques for cutting paper and creating their own unique image. Parker Selected as Adobe Partner by Design

Leslie Parker, instructor in graphic design, has been selected as an Adobe "Partner by Design." Adobe annually chooses program participants based on a submitted resume, portfolio and statement. Partners by Design are recognized for sharing innovations in digital design and seeking the best practices in technological instruction. The program connects art, design, game development, and film faculty to foster inspired collaboration and conversation.
