Dr. Lillie M. Fears, professor of multimedia journalism, is co-author of an article published in the peer-reviewed Journalism History. In anticipation of the journal’s 50th year of publication, the History Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication commissioned this audit of the journal’s content beginning in 1974. The article explores the journal’s diversity in authorship, topics of inquiry, and possibilities for future studies.

Dr. Andrea Davis (left), assistant professor of history, and Dr. Vicent Moreno (right), associate professor of Spanish, received “signature course” distinction from the Red Wolf Works Committee for a spring 2023 course, “Spanish Civil War Testimony, History, Culture.” To be taught by both professors, the class will examine different accounts and representations of the Spanish Civil War, including history, world cultures, Spanish studies, and digital humanities.

Dr. Tillman Kennon (left), professor of science education, and Dr. Ross Carroll (right), associate professor of physics, gave an invited talk at the National Council of Space Grant Directors' Southeast Regional Meeting in Puerto Rico. They discussed Arkansas BalloonSAT's mission to observe the 2017 total solar eclipse from the upper atmosphere and presented an outlook for the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse coming to Arkansas.

Dr. Carlitta M. Moore, assistant professor of athletic training and assistant dean, Nursing and Health Professions, spoke at the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP) conference. She identified best practices for building a culture of equity and inclusivity for student-athletes with diverse sexual identities. Moore also was appointed recently to the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) Professional Accreditation Council.

Laura Miller (left), director, and Robert Bahn (right), senior business consultant, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC), were recognized as top performers at the statewide meeting in Little Rock. They were named to ASBTDC's Millions Club, which celebrates the funding levels they have helped their clients achieve. Bahn is in the Millions Club for an ASBTDC-record eighth time, while Miller is in for the sixth time.
