DuBose Elected President of Credentialing Group
Dr. Cheryl DuBose, professor of medical imaging and radiation sciences, and department chair, was recently elected president-elect of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Board of Trustees. ARRT is the world’s largest credentialing organization for medical imaging, interventional procedures, and radiation therapy. DuBose will assume the presidency in July for a one-year term. Credentialed since 1996, she has served on the ARRT board since 2018.

Tetteh’s Research Examines Cancer-Related Issues
A research article by Dr. Dinah Tetteh, associate professor of communication studies and James and Wanda Lee Vaughn Endowed Professor, has been published in the journal Health Communication. Based on data she collected in Arkansas, her study used the relational dialectics theory (RDT) as a theoretical lens to examine the narratives of gynecologic cancer survivors for a better understanding of how they made sense of their cancer experiences.

Zatarain Presents Histolab Project in Spain
Dr. Zyanya Lucía Zataraín, assistant professor of biological sciences, Campus Querétaro, recently presented results of work by her and her co-authors, “Histolab: Extended Reality Platform for Histology Learning” at the 18th International Technology, Education and Development Conference in Valencia, Spain. This project has been the result of a collaboration with colleagues at TECNM - Instituto Tecnológico de Culiacán. Zatarain is a medical doctor, and her Ph.D. is in biochemistry.

Sokolov to Serve ASEM as Regional Director
Dr. Alexandr M. Sokolov, assistant professor of engineering management, has been elected to serve as regional director of the Southwest Region of the American Society of Engineering Management (ASEM). The region includes Hawaii, California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado. ASEM is the world's premier engineering management society. Sokolov also is director of master’s and bachelor’s programs in engineering management and construction management at A-State.

Patchell Selected for Track & Field Hall of Fame
The Arkansas Track & Field Hall of Fame will induct eight new members, including Jim Patchell, during a May ceremony. Patchell, the most successful track and field coach in A-State history. An A-State alum, Patchell was a sprinter and hurdler as a student-athlete. After stops at two other universities, he became the Red Wolves coach in 2011. His teams have won 29 Sun Belt Conference team titles. More details are online.
