Morrow’s Research Reveals Details of Ancient Diets
Congratulations to Dr. Juliet Morrow, station archeologist, Arkansas Archeological Survey’s Research Station, who co-authored research just published in Science Advances about human food sources during the Paleolithic period in North America. At A-State since 1997, Morrow began working with the Montana State Historical Society in 1999 to study stone and antler tools found with a child buried an estimated 13,000 years ago. Three of Naderi’s Conference Papers Published
Three conference papers for which Dr. Ehsan Naderi, assistant professor of electrical engineering and interim program director, served as first author, corresponding author, and presenter have been published. In the Third International Conference on Power, Control and Computing Technologies, the authors examined the effects of stealthy false data injection (FDI) cyberattacks on under-load tap changing transformers. The authors analyzed FDI attacks on electric vehicles via fast charging stations for the IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo. Their paper at the IEEE/IAS Industrial and Commercial Power System Asia conference proposed a real-time remediation framework to address FDI cyberattacks.

Salo to Serve as Civilian Aide to Army Secretary
Dr. Ed Salo, professor of history and associate chair, has been selected as a Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) for the state of Arkansas. CASAs, which are selected by the Secretary of the Army, are considered special government employees who earn no wages or benefits but are provided a three-star protocol status. Salo also teaches military history classes to ROTC cadets at A-State. Details are online.

Dancer and Students Co-Author Research
Dr. W. Terry Dancer, professor of accounting, along with Harshita Chopra and Anh Duong, graduate students in the master’s degree program in business administration, are co-authors of an article published in the Journal of Accounting and Finance. Their article focuses on assigning value to so-called non-value-added activities that are incurred during the manufacturing process, such as inspections, material moving, and setups.

Chávez, Esparza and Leslie Co-Author Reverse Logistics Research
Dr. Glenda Marisa Chávez Gallegos and Saúl Alfonso Esparza Rodríguez, professors of business, Campus Querétaro, and Dr. H. Steve Leslie, associate professor of business communication, are co-authors of a paper just published in the Journal of Scientometric Research. Their study analyzes 1,148 articles on reverse logistics from 2000 to 2023, available in Web of Science. It highlights key authors, research groups, and publications addressing related concepts such as competitive advantage, organizational performance, sustainability, inventory control, supply chain, and waste management.

Singleton is Peer Reviewer for National Accreditor
Dr. Topeka Small Singleton, assistant professor of educational leadership, has been selected to serve as a member of the Peer Review Corps for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC, a national accreditor, is responsible for accrediting degree-granting postsecondary educational institutions across the nation. The initial term is two years, starting after completion of a comprehensive training program in the spring. Previously she served as a peer evaluator for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
