Cameron’s Book for Clarinetists is Published
Congratulations to Dr. Erin Cameron, assistant professor of clarinet, who has authored her first book, titled Bass Camp: A Training Manual for Bass Clarinetists, with Alea Publishing. This method book is written for high school and college undergraduate low clarinetists. She wrote the book, the only book of its kind on the market, to help intermediate students progress in their playing technique. A faculty member since 2020, Cameron also serves on the Arkansas Governor's School faculty.

Hasan Co-Authors Article on Power Systems
Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, assistant professor of electrical engineering, is co-author of an article published in the peer-reviewed journal MDPI Energies. Hasan and his colleagues describe how the widespread integration of renewable energies makes power systems inflexible, and how to overcome that challenge. They also discuss power system flexibility (PSF) in grid systems, providing helpful guidance to professionals in multiple fields who are involved with smart power systems.

Readnour is Latest PROPS Award Winner
Corey Readnour, meats lab manager, College of Agriculture, has been named as the latest recipient of the Proudly Recognizing our Pack Staff (PROPS) Award. The PROPS Award program is administered by a subcommittee of the Staff Senate, with recipients selected from a pool of candidates created from the PROPS nomination form. Six Individuals Selected to Receive Staff Senate Education Stipends
Five A-State employees and one employee’s dependent have been selected to receive the Staff Senate Education Stipend for the spring semester. The $500 stipends go to Kourtney Hinkson, Recruitment; Kelli Listenbee, Assessment; Orithea Regn, Ecotoxicology; Mike Smith, Procurement; and Jonathan Ware, University Housing. All five are graduate students. Phillip Hayden Brinkley, son of Christy Brinkley, Office of Behavioral Research and Evaluation, was the sixth recipient. He is an undergraduate student.

McDaniel Retires from Kays Foundation Board
Thanks to J. Leonard McDaniel, who gave almost eight years of service to the Kays Foundation Board of Directors. McDaniel announced his retirement from the board at its December meeting. McDaniel became emeritus registrar in 1996, when he concluded his 29-year career with A-State. In 2018 he established the Mary Lou McDaniel Master of Science in College Student Personnel Services Scholarship, in memory of his wife.
