A-State Announces Several Staff Changes in Student Affairs

JONESBORO – Some staffing changes to the Department of Student Affairs have taken place at Arkansas State University to better support students.  
 
"This new structure will help us better support student success and showcase our vibrant campus community,” said Dr. Martha Spack, vice chancellor for the Division of Student Affairs. 
 
The changes to the Department of Student Affairs include Alexis Besharse, who will move to the position of director of student union events.  
 
“Alexis will support student organizations, academic departments and community members with events hosted in the Student Union,” added Spack.  

Katey Provence has been named director of student affairs marketing and communication. In this role, Provence will assist all student affairs departments with website management, social media, print communications to students and parents, video and photography content and print marketing.  
 
Moving into the role of director of the leadership center, Allysa Weaver will work to facilitate key campus involvement opportunities. These include the Student Government Association, Student Activities Board, Volunteer A-State, new student orientation, Greek life, and registered student organizations.  
 
Matt Huckaby has been named director of student conduct where he will address issues of student behavior as well as that of student organizations.  
 
All positions became effective July 1.
