Artrageous to Open 2017-18 Riceland Series at Fowler Center
JONESBORO – "Artrageous" is set to present the opening performance in the 2017-18 Riceland Distinguished Performance Series at Arkansas State University’s Fowler Center, Friday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
With a palette that also mixes captivating vocals, intricate choreography and exciting audience interaction, Artrageous takes one on a visual journey packed with wild inspiration, creativity and fun. The Artrageous troupe of artists, musicians, singers and dancers pay tribute to a variety of art forms, pop icons and musical genres, culminating in a gallery of fabulous finished paintings, according to Michael Bowman, Fowler Center director.
Artrageous' signature is interaction and engagement, so members will conduct a “Get To Know Ya” with the audience prior to their performance. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show. The Artrageous cast will pass out props the guests will need for the show.
The show opens with a journey through time with the artists, singers, dancers and musicians paying tribute to an American icon. Then they segue into the "duel" and the artists race against the clock and each other to create two legends.
The second half of the act is a new take on the masterpieces, done “Artrageous Style.” The show culminates with a tribute to our great country.
