College of Education and Community Partners To Launch Service-Learning Program, Thursday, July 18
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University and College of Education officials will join with community partners from 12 non-profit public service agencies to conduct a signing ceremony Thursday, July 18, for a new service-learning program.
The College of Education is establishing agreements with each of the agencies, through which A-State students will be able to work in a service-learning project.
A service-learning course will be offered to students in the College of Education, according to Dr. Blair Dean, service-learning director for the college and professor of physical education.
The public ceremony will formally launch the cooperative program.

Time: Thursday, July 18, 2 p.m.
Purpose: To launch Arkansas State’s service-learning initiative, through which community service projects will be integrated with student instruction to
enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen the community.
