Come 'Howl on the Hardwood' and Show Your Red Wolf Pride

02/04/2025

JONESBORO – The Student Activities Board (SAB) of Arkansas State University announces the annual return of “Howl on the Hardwood.”

This event is a tradition at A-State, providing students, faculty and alumni an opportunity to come together and demonstrate their support for the Red Wolves basketball teams.

Howl on the Hardwood is a pep rally that will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at First National Bank Arena. The Red Wolves women's team will play Southern Mississippi starting at 5 p.m, followed by the men's game right after.

Haley Cummings, assistant director of student activities, said the pep rally itself is a competition. Students are encouraged to bring their school spirit and share their love for A-State and the Red Wolves teams.

The overall spirit award for the event is the Bodolf award. A banner award winner will be selected to win the Picasso award. There are two awards that nominations were taken for ahead of time which include Leader of the Pack and the Alpha Wolf awards.

These competitions encourage students to express their creativity, school pride, and leadership skills, with the opportunity to earn recognition for their efforts.

"The Howl on the Hardwood event is open to all students, staff, and faculty and serves as a key occasion for fostering a sense of community and support for the university's athletic programs," Cummings added.
