Delta National Small Prints Exhibition Opens at BAM, Purchase Prizes Announced

01/24/2025

JONESBORO — The 2025 Delta National Small Prints Exhibition (DNSPE) opened Thursday at Arkansas State University’s Bradbury Art Museum (BAM) with a public reception held for artists and guests from the community.

Pedro Barbeito, juror of this year’s exhibition, reviewed entries from printmakers from all across the United States and beyond. When reviewing submissions, he was able to see the title, medium, dimensions and artist statement associated with each print, but not the artist’s name or place of residence.

Barbeito, associate professor at Lafayette College and director of the Experimental Printmaking Institute, selected the purchases from the myriad of submissions.

“The quality of the submissions was very high, which made the selection process difficult as there was only room in the exhibit for a 10th of what was submitted. Ultimately the works I selected are the ones that I found the most enigmatic, as well as beautiful, made with care and technical expertise,” shared Barbeito in his juror’s statement.

Barbeito selected prints to include in the exhibition and recommended artworks to receive purchase awards. The award-winning art pieces become part of BAM's permanent collection. Others received merit awards.

The purchase award-winning entries include (in alphabetical order by the artist’s last name):
