Faculty Promotions and Tenure Appointments for 2024-25 Approved by Board
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University has promoted 23 faculty members in academic rank and awarded tenure to 12, announced Dr. Calvin White Jr., provost and executive vice chancellor.
The ASU System Board of Trustees Thursday approved the recommendations from the Promotion, Retention and Tenure Committee and university administration. The actions are effective July 1, the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year.
“Congratulations to all those promoted and tenured for their demonstrated record of great work and service to the university and state,” White said. “We are proud of the exemplary research, teaching and service of these outstanding faculty.”
Faculty who were promoted to professor are Claire Abernathy, theatre; Dr. Mohammad Abrar Alam, chemistry; Dr. Koushik Biswas, physics; Dr. Scott Bruce, athletic training; Dr. Anahita Izadyar, chemistry; Dr. Jonathan Merten, chemistry; Dr. Edward Salo, history; Dr. Ilwoo Seok, mechanical engineering; and Dr. Amy Shollenbarger, communication disorders.
The 14 faculty members promoted to associate professor are Dr. Scott Anderson, communication; Dr. Shanon Brantley, communication disorders; Addie Fleming, nursing; Dr. Margaret Hance, psychology; Dr. GwanSeon Kim, agricultural economics; Dr. H. Steve Leslie, business communication; Dr. Jacob Manlove, agricultural economics; Dr. Mohamed Milad, statistics; Dr. Carlitta Moore, athletic training; Dr. John Nowlin, geospatial technologies; Dr. Jake Qualls, bioinformatics; Dr. Sarah Scott, communication; Dr. Ryan Sullivan, music; and Dr. Amber Wooten, medical imaging and radiation sciences.
Those approved for tenure were Dr. Steven Muzatko, accounting, Todd Sanders, occupational therapy; and Dr. Christine Wright, occupational therapy, along with nine of the individuals promoted to associate professor: Addie Fleming, Dr. Margaret Hance, Dr. H. Steve Leslie, Dr. Mohamed Milad, Dr. Carlitta Moore, Dr. John Nowlin, Dr. Jake Qualls, Dr. Sarah Scott and Dr. Ryan Sullivan.
