09/25/2017

JONESBORO – All students, both undergraduate and graduate, are eligible for the 10th annual fall Business Plan Competition hosted by Arkansas State University’s College of Business. Winning proposals will receive rewards from a total cash prize package of $2,500.

“We are very motivated and ready to see how our students will be participating this year,” stated Dr. Erick PC Chang, associate professor of management and organizer. “We have a good history of students participating and taking advantage of what we offer in our campus. We also got commitments from our international panel of judges who will be participating in the preliminary round from Oct. 6 to Oct. 18.”

Students are invited to submit a two-page proposal no later than Thursday, Oct. 5. More information about the competition can be found in the A-State College of Business webpage, http://www.AState.edu/business/ and in the Entrepreneurship @ ASU Facebook page, www.facebook.com/EntASU.

To enter the competition, students need an innovative business idea and plan, and need to document it in no more than two pages. Entrants are allowed to work in teams of up to six people. This year marks the fourth time a freshman video elevator pitch competition will be conducted.

Finalists for the business plan category will be announced Thursday, Oct. 19.

The final round will be held in the executive board room of the Delta Center for Economic Development, Wednesday, Nov. 15. This event will be sponsored by Arkansas Capital Corporation, the organizers of the Governor’s Cup, who are in the process of announcing a new sponsor for the state-level competition.
