JONESBORO -- Arkansas State University (A-State) is stepping into the future with the introduction of Kiwibot, an on-campus robotic food delivery service. Kiwibot promises to transform how students, staff, and faculty at A-State receive their meals, offering convenience, efficiency, and a touch of futuristic charm.

Beginning this semester, A-State will deploy 15 Kiwibots, capable of delivering food from five retail locations on campus directly to residences, administrative buildings, and other designated spots. The initiative aims to streamline food delivery on campus, catering to the busy schedules of the university community.

To use the Kiwibot service, users simply need to download the Everyday App. Through the app, they can place orders from any of the participating on-campus food outlets. The process is straightforward: select your meal, place the order, and a Kiwibot will deliver it to your specified location.

"We are thrilled to bring Kiwibot to A-State," said Richard Matthews, interim general manager. "This cutting-edge technology not only enhances the dining experience but also provides a fun and practical solution for our students and staff. The Kiwibot service aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and student satisfaction."

The introduction of Kiwibot is part of A-State’s ongoing efforts to enhance campus life through innovative solutions. The university is exploring the possibility of expanding the fleet in Spring 2025, depending on the success and feedback from the initial deployment.

In addition to the convenience of robotic deliveries, some meal plans will include a subscription to the Kiwibot service, providing even more value for students. This feature ensures that more students can take advantage of the new technology without additional costs.

The excitement around Kiwibot was palpable during the recent New Student Orientation, where a demo Kiwibot made its debut. The demo showcased the bot's capabilities and generated significant interest and enthusiasm among new students, many of whom are eager to use the service.
