Retiring Faculty Members Recognized at Faculty Honors Convocation

JONESBORO – Faculty members at Arkansas State University who have retired or will retire at the end of the current academic year were recognized during the Faculty Honors Convocation for their longtime service and contributions to the university.
This year, 26 faculty members were honored for the 2024-2025 academic year.

- Dr. William Maynard, associate professor of history, 37 years
- Dr. Mary Jane Bradley, dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Science, 37 years
- Dr. Mary Jackson Pitts, professor of radio-television, 36 years
- Dr. Mark McJunkin, associate professor of elementary education, 35 years
- Dr. Wayne Narey, associate professor of English, 34 years
- Dr. Jerry Farris, distinguished professor of biology, 32 years
- Dr. Blair Dean, professor of physical education teacher education, 32 years
- Dr. Les Wyatt, professor of higher education and art, and president emeritus, 30 years
- Matthew Carey, assistant professor of vocal studies, 28 years
- Dr. Michael Bowman, associate professor of communication, 28 years
- Peggy Wright, instructor of political science, 27 years
