Students Win Big At Arkansas College Media Association Conference
JONESBORO – Students from Arkansas State University brought home numerous awards in newspaper and television from the annual Arkansas College Media Association conference last weekend in Bentonville on the campus of Northwest Arkansas Community College.
The categories for awards include general excellence, magazine, newspaper, online, radio, television and yearbook. Larz Roberts and Dr. Ron Sitton, instructors in multimedia journalism, accompanied the students to the conference.
“The award-winning Department of Media students show that the accredited journalism program at A-State is properly educating students to successfully have a variety of careers in media,” said Sandra Combs, associate professor of multimedia journalism and adviser to The Herald, A-State’s student newspaper. “Journalism is a practice and our students are getting good practice here. We are proud of our media students."
The ACMA provides an annual media contest to showcase the journalistic excellence of students representing Arkansas colleges and universities.
