Theory: Implementing optimization techniques and fuzzy interface systems (e.g., single/multi-objective optimization frameworks, bi-level algorithms, and scenario-based approaches) to solve a variety of problems in the fields of modern power system operation, control, and planning 

Application: Empowering cyber-physical power systems against cyberattacks, more specifically smart microgrids integrated with renewable energy resources (e.g., wind power and photovoltaic (PV)) in both grid-tied and standalone modalities

Biography

Dr. Ehsan Naderi is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering and Computer Science, Arkansas State University (A-State), Jonesboro, AR, United States (starting from August 2023). He received the Ph.D. degree from Southern Illinois University (SIU), Carbondale, IL, United States, in May 2023. During his Ph.D. studies, he was appointed as the primary instructor of Electromechanical Energy Conversion/Electric Machines Lab, a foundation course in electric power/energy and a core course for the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering. As a Ph.D. student, he received the Dissertation Research Fellowship award from the College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, and Mathematics. Moreover, his dissertation has been nominated for the Richard and Donna Falvo Outstanding Dissertation award. In addition to several best paper awards from IEEE conferences (e.g., 2022 IGESSC, 2022 AIIoT, etc.), he also received four outstanding reviewer awards from top-field journals (e.g., IJEPES, EAAI, etc.) in recognition of his professional services. Dr. Naderi is an editor of Frontiers in Smart Grids - Grid Efficiency section and a reviewer for more than 40 scientific journals in addition to being an IEEE member as well as a member of the power & energy, industrial electronics, power electronics, and industry applications societies.
