ALL-CLEAR Issued for A-State Campus

UPDATE: Authorities have issued an ALL-CLEAR for the Dean B. Ellis Library and the Reng Student Union. No credible threat has been discovered on campus. A-State is resuming normal operations at this time.

RECAP: Overnight, an email was sent to a batch of employee email addresses claiming that a threat had been placed in the Reng Student Union and the Dean B. Ellis Library. Early this morning, many of those employees forwarded the email to the University Police Department. University Police initiated their response and issued an all-user notification.

Thank you to the agencies that provided mutual assistance this morning: the Jonesboro Police Department and K-9 Unit, the Craighead County Sheriff's Office, and the Special Response Team.

Despite increasing numbers of false reports over the past weeks, A-State takes these threats seriously. The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our top priority and we encourage our community to review our online Emergency Action Plan.
