Biography

Dr. Bolden joined as faculty in the Arkansas State’s ASN Nursing Program in November of 2023 with 16 years as a nurse educator and 30 plus years of clinical experience as a nurse. Dr. Bolden worked in several roles such as director of nursing, nursing research manager, and psychiatric clinical specialist. She is certified as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing by ANCC. She received a BSN from University of Memphis (1989) and MSN in Psychiatric Nursing from University of Central Arkansas, Conway Arkansas in 1993 and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Memphis with a Ph.D. in research and nursing December 2006.Dr. Bolden was a recipient of Sigma Theta Tau scholarship and Ethnic Minority Pre-doctoral Fellowship from Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and received a 2 year post-doctoral fellowship from Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration. She has published several manuscripts as primary and secondary author in the following journals: Journal of Nursing Care Quality, American Journal of Nursing, The Journal of Advanced Nursing and Clinical Nursing Research. She has presented in the community and at several national conferences.
