Biography

Dr. Johnson's interests include nineteenth-century French and British narrative, the comic, the fantastic, the fin-de-siècle, and representations of economic relations. He has published articles on Zola, Balzac, Villiers de l'Isle-Adam, Hector Malot, Catulle Mendès, and other writers.

He has a great passion for silent film and classical music, particularly the work of the Finnish composer Sibelius.
