Biography
Qianyu Chen is an accomplished collaborative pianist, actively performing with both instrumentalists and vocalists across the United States and China. She is currently on the faculty at Arkansas State University, serving as the Instructor of Collaborative Piano.
Dr. Chen earned her DMA in Collaborative Piano from the University of Southern Mississippi. She holds a Master of Music degree from Temple University, where she specialized in both Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano. Her extensive performance background includes solo recitals, collaborative recitals, concerto appearances with orchestras, and participation in music festivals. Dr. Chen’s collaborative expertise spans various genres, including opera, musical theater, wind ensembles, concert bands, choirs, church music, and other professional settings. Additionally, she is proficient in harpsichord and fortepiano interpretation, demonstrating her versatility as a pianist. Her diverse performance repertoire ranges from the Baroque era to the 21st century, encompassing all string and wind instruments.
