One of the best experiences I had in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics was having the privilege of doing mathematical research with one of my favorite Professors Dr. Miao. I got to travel and present the research in many different places. During the conference in Edmond, Oklahoma, I received 3rd place for my research. It was one of the most exciting moments in my life and I will never forget it! My favorite memory is studying in the student union with fellow students until about 2:30 am preparing for a Modern Algebra Exam. Going through courses with friends is a great idea. Often your strength will be their weakness and vice versa. This bond always helped me widen my way of thinking and I’m better for it. Live in the moment. Make your education your main priority and enjoy all it has to offer. Take advantage of the supplemental learning opportunities. Attend events, help recruit more students, and be the example of what it means to be a Department of Mathematics & Statistics student. I promise you will not be disappointed by the results and opportunities this will create. |
