The focus of the program is to prepare outstanding future educators and leaders in the public and private sectors.  The Agricultural Education program is structured around the needs of students and their career goals.  Students in the program are required to take personal responsibility for their education to include involvement and participation in courses and extracurricular activities which are essential to learning and future career success. Formal and informal learning experiences are designed to enable students to successfully progress through the program encouraging academic and professional development as well as personal growth. 

  • Prerequisites

    All Agricultural Studies majors, regardless of emphasis, must complete specific courses as part of their general education coursework. This list of courses, as well as other curriculum and degree requirements, can be found in the most current Undergraduate Bulletin.

    Students pursuing the Agricultural Education emphasis must have a 2.50 GPA to be admitted into the Teacher Education Program. The following exams are also required:

    Praxis I - Required for admission into Teacher Education Program
    Praxis II - Required for graduation for the Teacher Education Program
