    Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch, professor of history, is the February Research Professor of the Month. Her most recent research project is "Better Living by Their Own Bootstraps: Rural Black Women's Activism in Arkansas, 1913-1965."

    Dr. Stephen Guffey, professor of physical therapy, is the March Research Professor of the Month. Dr. Guffey collaborates with researchers at all levels of their careers as an important bridge to greater understanding.

    Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar, professor of plant metabolic engineering in the College of Sciences and Mathematics, is the January Research Professor of the Month at Arkansas State.

    Dr. Brook Fluker, assistant professor of aquatic ecology, has been selected as the April Research Professor of the Month for his work with the Arkansas Center for Biodiversity and the National Science Foundation.

Research Development

The Research Development office partners with faculty to accomplish the following objectives:

  • Develop and maintain sponsored agency relations
  • Strategic proposal development, including team meetings and formation of collaborative initiatives
  • Submission of proposals to sponsored agencies on behalf of the University
  • Receipt, review and acceptance of sponsored agreements, grants and contracts
