What’s your favorite part about learning a foreign language?
When I have lightbulb moments where I understand a concept and truly grasp its use. Also, I love the beauty of the language and the excitement that I have for speaking it.
What’s your favorite word in Spanish?
Aproximadamente - I was so excited in Spanish 2 in high school when I learned to pronounce this long Spanish word!
Have you studied abroad? Where? What did you like the most about the experience?
I have studied abroad in Costa Rica Summer 2015! My favorite part about the experience was the interactions that I got to have with the people there – not only did I get to practice speaking the language I love, but I also got to learn some incredible things about their lives and culture.
What are you going to do when you graduate?
I plan to get a job in Jonesboro and enjoy working while I save money for graduate school!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I hope that in 5 years I will be working as a court interpreter (my dream job) and will have the opportunity and resources to travel as much as possible.
What language would you like to learn next?
I would like to learn to speak French! Although I love Spanish, I think that French is also a unique language.
Cats or dogs?
Dogs! I especially love big dogs. I have two dogs named Bebop and Cody.
Beach or mountain?
Although I do love mountains and hiking, the beach will always be my favorite!

What advice would you give to a student who’s starting college now?
Keep an open mind and most of all, get involved! Find an organization, church, or club to be a part of. This helped me the most starting college because it helped me to find things I was passionate about and make new friends as well!
If I could travel anywhere, I’d go to…
Australia! I want to travel all over the world during my lifetime, but I think Australia would be a lovely country to start with!
